John Carew

    Sleeping Dogs
Hear the sibilance of the downtrodden
the homeless, the sick, the unemployed
the working man
Their whole being in a state of
Sleeping Dogs will not sleep for ever.

Red roses
Red berries
Red lips
Red blushes
Red the colour of young love
Resplendent in its youth.

Grandfather’s Clock

Tick Tock
Tick Tock
Tick Tock
Grandfather’s Clock
Who will wind you, Now.
